I wanted one for 20 years, why not. I am putting in some special watches and gifts from others.I wanted a low key watch case. I like it in my drawer, with a key, real leather, a place to keep some leather or sharkskin straps and as many watches as possible.

This company has many skus that say leather but if you read carefully they are imitation. This is one of few with real leather.

If you prefer a display case, I recommend burlwood or lacquer over something porous like leather, or cloth. I donot like the idea of buying a watch case for over $50 without leather with the cost of hides coming from Asia these days. Leather ages beautifully.

If you spend $ 20 to $ 40 different story.

Colibri Silvertone Quartz Digital Pocket Watch Tech Design PWS09013 Review

Although I bought this as a gift for the wife, and it comes from Colibri to which my family has always been devoted, well, it sort of sucks.

This is a pendulous, strange watch. It is almost too heavy to be a pocket watch, in spite of its tiny size; I bought for my wife to use at work either as a pendant or a side-pinned watch. She cannot bear to wear it. She says it weighs as much as a toilet. It also swivels back-and-forth, 360 degrees. Though I was once an engineer, I cannot ascertain why this is.

It is incredibly annoying to have to individually set both the analog and digital time on this; a good quality product allows you to simultaneously set both time indicators. The price was unbeatable, and in my family we have also had the tradition of keeping spare watches all over the house--a tradition shared by my wife's family. So we keep it, we look at it and it serves as a nice memento.

And on occasion, it makes a good paperweight.

In the past whenever I have purchased a Colibri product, it has always had great quality for the price.This watch, although not a bad watch, was not up to par with what I was expecting.

The presentation was great.They give you a nice, sturdy wooden box.The watch is placed nicely and everything looks great.I took the watch out and the first two things that I noticed were the fact that is is lighter thatn I was hoping, and although the watch is metal, the casings on both sides are metal, and the ring which connected the chain to the watch is metal, the overall outer ring and chain connection is a piece of plastic!I was kind of shocked.It does not even look that nice and is not covered up well.Anyone who looks at it can clearly see and feel that it is a piece of plastic.

Overall, the watch is a decent watch and not too expensive, especially considering the box that it comes in, but do not expect anything really nice out of this.I enjoy the watch and wear it, but as soon as I get something nicer, this hing is going in the box probably never to be worn again.

This chain is decent, not excellent. It seems sturdy enough, but the clip for your belt and the clip for the watch seem a little cheap. The length is fine, not too long, not too short. It is a decent temporary chain for anything you might want to use it for.

This is a good pocket watch, what would be expected from a Swiss Army watch. Very heavy with a solid feel. Only two detractions: first and foremost is that this watch is very fat, the back is not shown in the images but the back has a panel that extends out slightly, total thickness is just over 1/2 an inch. Second: the leather pouch is not made for this thick of a watch, the watch must be pushed in and pulled out.

I bought this watch because I needed a way to tell time, but can't really wear wrist watches anymore.The price at Amazon was just over 50 dollars, lower than many of the other mechanical pocket watches listed at Amazon. Since the watch was "cheaper", I will honestly admit that my expectations were not really that high.I was pleasantly surprised with this watch. It has a nice solid heft and feel. The lens is crystal and not plastic. The workmanship seems to be solid and quite handsome. The gears and springs are visible through the front face of the watch, and through the round 'window' in the back. I am very pleased with this purchase.
As with all mechanical watches, keep in mind that you should not wind the spring too tightly!

If you like pocket watches that are work worthy , then buy this one. I use it as an alarm to wake up in the morning and use it all day long. The only reason I bought a new one was that I lost my other one! (I took it off it's tether and then lost it in a debris pile as I was working! Won't do that again!) The unusual cover, thick cylindrical shape, odd watch face and relatively low price compelled me to buy this pocket watch for my collection. The casing is like shiny chrome and feels quite sturdy. The back window is made of glass and the watch face window is made of plastic. The ticking fairly quiet. It came in a fancy velvety jewelery box shipped in a substantial amount of packaging. This watch is interesting and sturdy, and I'm glad that I bought it.

Timex Black Grip Clip Digital Watch #T73751 Review

I just ordered another one of these.After a year and a half of abuse, what did my last one in was a seatbelt; the belt had worked its way halfway into the clip when I stood up. Anyway, my only problem with this item is the attatchment point for the spring part of the clip.It really should be metal, but for 20 bucks I'll buy another.I haven't seen another digital clip watch that isn't a kid's item.

I bought this for my husband for our 4th wedding anniversary. I did a lot of shopping around before I settled on this one.He really wanted a skeleton pocket watch and he wanted a lot of the watch's mechanisms exposed.This watch seemed to foot that bill without costing the over $500 the ones we were looking at cost. I have to say this watch is much nicer in person.My husband was so impressed and absolutely loves it!It is a very nice size, everything is so pleasing to the eye and the construction looks very solid.Now we've only had this for a short time so I can't comment on its lasting quality but it does come with a limited lifetime warranty which is reassuring.This is truly a beautiful watch and worth every penny.

Colibri Hunting Case Silvertone Pocket Watch Fancy Design PWS095920 Review

I've been using this pocket watch for a about a month, and dropped it a few times on a concrete floor at work already. It still works quite well, and keeps time perfectly. I'm glad I bought it. It's way better than dropping my really expensive cell phone on the floor. The date features aren't tiny like on some pocket watches, you can see them just fine. I think the only thing that bothered me was I had it on my key chain, but the metal loop ended up coming off. I keep it setting with my keys though so I never forget to bring it. The price is pretty decent for such a sturdy watch too. I looked everywhere for a pocket watch with a date option built into it, and this one ended up being perfect.

Update (3-22-10): After a few months, I couldn't depend on what it said. I had to go with a wrist watch. The date and time kept randomly changing on it. I dropped it a few times, but the mechanism of the watch still seemed to be running smoothly. To me, it just wasn't a solid time piece.
