I bought this watch because I needed a way to tell time, but can't really wear wrist watches anymore.The price at Amazon was just over 50 dollars, lower than many of the other mechanical pocket watches listed at Amazon. Since the watch was "cheaper", I will honestly admit that my expectations were not really that high.I was pleasantly surprised with this watch. It has a nice solid heft and feel. The lens is crystal and not plastic. The workmanship seems to be solid and quite handsome. The gears and springs are visible through the front face of the watch, and through the round 'window' in the back. I am very pleased with this purchase.As with all mechanical watches, keep in mind that you should not wind the spring too tightly!
